History of Wine country honey
Wine
Country Honey is located in the heart of one of the world's most
beautiful places, Sonoma County, California. Our diverse
micro-climates range from semi-tropical redwood rainforest to rolling
grassy hills to dense hardwood forests of Oak and Madrone and from
swampy bay marshland to true rugged high country. These
micro-climates also allow for the most diverse agricultural areas
offering literally scores of different crops wine, apples, pears,
chestnuts, and vegetables. Virtually every kind of agricultural product
is produced in Sonoma County's $3 billion industry!
It is these varietal crops, combined with our numerous micro-climates which allow Wine Country Honey to produce the finest varietal honeys in the world. Raw honey is defined as honey purely as it is made by bees in the hive or by extracting it without adding any heat, a practice that is common with commercial honey. Since raw honey is healthier, full of valuable enzymes, and simply tastes better, it is what we devote our lives to providing to the public here at Wine Country Honey. Our raw honey is spun from the honey comb and any leftover wax is strained from the pure honey. Our bees make their raw honey from a variety of local flowers, and the end result is our delicious line of natural honey, including Orange Blossom Honey, Wildflower Honey, Starthistle Honey, and Lavender Honey.
For three generations, the Nelson family has been proud to supply some of the purest natural honey and honey products. Our Raw Honeys, Creamed Honey, Pollens, and Candles are produced with old world care with the hope that your taste experience will be shared with others. So try some of our fantastic raw honey and discover both the health benefits and the wonderful flavors provided by nature. You and your family will truly enjoy our honey and we hope you will come back again and again to savor the flavor of our pure and natural raw honey.
